Lisa Frankenstien
Lisa Frankenstien (2024)
  • Age rating: 14+
  • Genre: dark comedy, romance
  • Plot: "A coming of RAGE love story about a teenager and her crush, who happens to be a corpse. After a set of horrific circumstances bring him back to life, the two embark on a journey to find love, happiness - and a few missing body parts." - IMDB
  • I don't Watch that many movies but Lisa Frankenstien was captivating the whole way through. Clearly made with a lot of love for the genre of dark comedies and romances and just a fun ride throughout. It's not a 'make you rethink your life choices' movie, it's not multilayered and confusing, it's just dumb fun. If you like stupid funny movies set in the 80's about pretty people doing ugly things for the presuit of love, then this is the right movie.

    Lookback
    Lookback (2024)
  • Age rating: 12+
  • Genre: realistic fiction, anime
  • Plot: Two artists, both talented in their own ways, find eachother and create art together until a terrible accident happens.
  • Look back is a brilliant movie. It's a love letter to animation and art in general. In a world where everything feels so corporate and capitalist and everything is done in the persuit of money and fame, seeing a movie that takes more effort to make me happy. I read the manga and immidiatly had to watch the movie, and it was a good decision, both manga and anime tell the same story but the figurative language and way it's expressed is different because of the different medias, one is a love letter to manga, one is a love letter to animation. Both are beautiful. I also love the story and how realistic it is. My favorite part when reading the manga was when one of the girls realized that the other girl was better then her at art, and how that impacted her to change, this is not an uncommon thing in real life, but it was interesting that it was put in a story like this. Very good movie and book, if you are an artist then watch this movie.

    ATSV
Spiderman - Across the spiderverse (2023)
  • Age rating: 10+
  • Genre: superhero, coming of age
  • Plot: Traveling across the multiverse, Miles Morales meets a new team of Spider-People, made up of heroes from different dimensions. But when the heroes clash over how to deal with a new threat, Miles finds himself at a crossroads." - IMDB
  • I love spiderverse, this is a line said by like everyone I know. I don't think you legally can say anything bad about these films, they basically perfect, the art direction is stylish, the animation being on twos makes it all feel so comic and punchy, the music fits every world perfectly, the writing is on point, Without spiderverse the new renisaunce of animation wouldn't exist. None of my points are new but I want to say why this movie is so important to me.

This movie made me feel like a kid again. It made me want to create again. I might never be apart of anything as perfect as this movie, but I will do anything I possibly can to make something with as much love and care and passion as this movie. I want to be able to create something beautiful, I want to create something that will be remembered, but most importantly, something that I love. I want to do something I love as much as the people of spiderverse did. This movie is completly made by people who love what they do. I want to do that. I want to create. I want to be a part of something. And spiderverse helps that. And that's what really makes it a good movie; the impact it has. I want to do that.

    Oneshot
    Oneshot
  • Age rating: 10+
  • Genre: puzzle, story driven
  • Plot: Niko has to save the world he wakes up in with the sun (a lightbulb) that he possesses, help him.
  • This game is best experienced with no prior knowledge, but if you already played the game or don't care click the arrow.

Oneshot is the best game I have ever played. This sounds dramatic but I literally gasped when I got the popup for the firs time "You only have one-shot ren". Beutifully done. I feel like I actually had a little guy in the screen. I loved it so much that I felt like I was actually talking to someone. So cool. 10/10 I would play again if there was more content but for a short little puzzle game, it is perfectly forth wall break-y and personal. I honestly don't even want to talk about it that much because I felt such a close connection to it, but I won't die with my ideas so here you go.

    Omori
    Omori
  • Age rating: 13+
  • Genre: rpg, horror
  • Plot: Omori is safe here in headspace. Omori is home here in headspace. But through the cracks of a wacky world with his friends lies something, much, much darker.
  • Omori's story is enticing and the gameplay almost never gets old, the art is childish and horrifying at the same time, and it's overall a really good game. The plot was interesting and told in a very compelling way, fragmented photographs peiced togther, which fits. There have been genuinly horrifying parts in the game that have made me stop in my tracks. Really good game but I would not replay it because I hate that Humphry Fight.

Spoilers for the bad and good ending ahead

Definetly has the most compelling endings that I have ever seen in a game, especailly the bad ending. Final duet put with the visuals of watching the characters I care about and whitnessed really resonated with me in the good ending, and finally being able to fight that battle and win reminds me of the pacifast ending in undertale, which I love alot. The bad ending on the otherhand made me want to cry even more, the fact that you can make the choice on whether you want to give up is terrifying in itself, and the way it is delivered is so depressing. And my time is the perfect track to company that. The whole game is setting up these two endings, and it pays off so well.

    Undertale
    The Stanely Parable Ultra delux
  • Age rating: 10+
  • Genre: comedy, multiple endings, story driven
  • Plot: Stanely wakes up with a voice in his head telling him a story, what will you choose to do with that?
  • I loved the original Stanely parable, It's a wonderly written and funny game, now take that and add more content? You just made a favorite game. The writing is funnier, the voiceacting is better, theres more content and stupid endings to get, there's a bucket now? this game is so good you should play it right now. If you like video games in general, If you like to laugh, If you like to piss people off, then this is the right game for you.

    A Hat in Time
    A Hat in Time
  • Age rating: 10+
  • Genre: 3D platformer, comedy
  • Plot: Hat kid loses all the fuel for her ship called time peices and has to travel to different worlds to get them back
  • This game is really fun, that's the best way to describe it. The story is silly, the art is goofy (in a good way), the Characters are wacky, the music is enticing, the gameplay is thrilling, it's over all a really fun and silly game, and the fact it has such a passionate modding community means that for a good while, you will have fun playing this game. It really feels like a AAA game but it really is just made by a dedicated indie team, which one could argue is better.

    Kinitopet
    KinitoPet
  • Age rating: 13+
  • Genre: Horror
  • Plot: It's the ninties, you installed a little guy named Kinito on your computer, How fun!
  • This game is best experienced with no prior knowledge, but if you already played the game or don't care click the arrow.

As you can tell, I am a sucker for forth wall breaking games, I love them so much, and as you can tell from my love of neocities, I love old web and the look of it, and you might not know this but I actually love learning about famous computer viruses. A game based on all these things are really cool! like with oneshot, I felt so connected to Kinito and it's situation, being trapped inside a computer must suck, and I feel the viceral need to escape and have anyone with you through him. The graphics and forthwall breaking bits are really well made. When kinito opened my search bar and looked up where I lived, that was horrifying! I loved it! one of the best games made in 2024!
